You have 3+ bathrooms, 4+ bedrooms, or a large family where multiple people shower at similar times. Also better if you already have a hot water cylinder you want to keep.
Heat-only boilers — also called conventional or regular boilers — work with both a hot water cylinder and a cold water storage tank in the loft. They're rarely installed in new properties but are the best option for older homes with existing gravity-fed systems, or period properties where the pipework isn't compatible with combi or system boilers.
